Grey’s Top 5 Tiktok Recipes To Try
Hello friends!
I feel like it was just a week ago that I posted my June review! Phew, time is flying and I admit I’m already shopping for Halloween decorations. Well, more like general home decor for our home, but this time of year is when I can find it everywhere I go ;). Code Orange has been sounded and I am here to answer.
While I am doing that, I am also scrolling down the TikTok rabbit hole of recipes. I have tried a handful of recipes this month that I thought were delicious, but I think I can easily pick out my top 5 that I’d recommend you try.
As always these recipes are meant to be easily made and enjoyed during the week or on those days where you just don’t have the mental strength to put together an elaborate meal. Been there–believe me.
So let’s get started! As always, I post all of my reviews during the week on my TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook.
Table of Contents
1. Spam And Eggs
I feel like spam used to get such a bad rep due to it being meat…in a can. However, I’m so happy to see more of it being used especially with Asian-inspired dishes. Honestly, I’m so thankful for the internet because it introduced me to the deliciousness that is Spam Musubi! Yum! And now thanks to many Tiktokers and especially, Cassie, who was on Next Level Chef, I tried spam and eggs! This is one of those inexpensive meals that feels like a warm hug. It’s so easy, comforting, and filling after a long day, or on those days you just don’t know what to make.
Honestly–it’s worth keeping a can of spam on hand for situations like that. This is one of those Tiktok recipes that I will be making again for sure.
2. Spinach & Artichoke Mac N’ Cheese
I’ve seen SO many Tiktok recipes that are pasta dishes, but they all seemed so…repetitive. Same sauce, the same protein, so I didn’t have the desire to try anything else. “Grey, is this where you say ‘until’?” YES! Until I saw a recipe for Spinach and Artichoke pasta! If you are a fan of the dip, you will LOVE this!
I love how unique this was and more importantly, how easy it was to get on the table. This comfortably serves 4, so we ended up having leftovers. This recipe does not include any protein. It’s great without it, but when I added chicken the next day I almost cried. You know that feeling when food you make is just so damn good? This was one of those feelings. Also per the original recipe poster, I could highly recommend using half Greek Yogurt and half cream cheese.
This is another Tiktok recipe I will happily recommend and will make again myself!
3. Chipotle Burrito Bowl
If you’re like me, then your go-to order at Chipotle is a burrito bowl. In my case, it’s because I’m gluten-free that’s just what I’m used to now. But how do you bring that burrito bowl experience home? Quite easily. This recipe is one that you can prep ahead of time. Just take a can of chipotle peppers in adobo sauce, blend them up, and add your chicken. Once ready, cook the chicken in a pan until cooked through and get ready to assemble.
This is one of those Tiktok recipes that I scrolled past and thought “Huh, that’s really easy and I don’t have to dirty a lot of dishes. Let’s do it”. The marinating of the chicken and cooking it is truly the most work you’ll have to do if you want to keep it super simple with store-bought salsa and guac. I’ve had such bad luck with avocado lately that I stuck with store-bought. No shame in that, my friends!
If you’re looking for a quick and easy recipe to make during the week–ding, ding, ding! This is it!
4. Miso Butter Salmon
I was just thinking of this recipe yesterday while reviewing my photos and if you’re looking to get more salmon into your diet…take a pause and read this. I’ve seen so many recipes for salmon, but this one was…something else. I had white miso on hand and have been meaning to use it more. This was…perfect.
The miso butter was fantastic on the salmon itself and I can definitely see myself using it on other protein too. But the real winner? I boiled some baby yellow potatoes that were halved. Once cooked through, I quickly panfried the potatoes in the droppings and the remaining sauce left in the pan. HOLY CRAP. I’ve been thinking about those potatoes ever since. Check out Tiffy Cooks who shares her tasty recipes on her blog and Tiktok!
While the main star is the miso butter and the salmon, you can really dress up this plate with a nice side salad and potatoes–I strongly recommend the baby potatoes. They are divine!!
5. Ginger Glazed Chicken
Another recipe by Tiffy Cooks? Yup! This is from a series of quick dinners to make during the week, which is honestly my mission every single day. Make and share recipe finds that make cooking enjoyable and your tummy happy! This is one of those Tiktok recipes that people should save in their recipes. I know I did. There are two main components of this recipe: the sauce and the chicken.
The sauce can be prepped on the side while the chicken cooks. The chicken is just coated in a light coating of corn starch and seasoned with salt and pepper before it’s pan-fried until cooked through. This light coating helps crisp up the chicken and helps the thickened sauce stick to every part of the chicken.
This recipe requires very few ingredients and comes together very quickly. So, it most definitely deserves a place on my top 5 list for July!
