Yummy Restaurant Style Crispy Chili Beef (Gluten-Free)

Crispy Chili Beef – Deliciousness Without Having To Leave Your House!

Hello friends!

Sometimes there are days where you’re gifted a few extra extra hours to make something “special” for dinner. You know, when you’re not rushing to get food on the table, or rushing to make it to an appointment?

Those days are amazing.

For me, those tend to be the weekends, if we don’t have other plans.

The recipes that I consider needing extra time to get on the table are often the ones that require you to cook ingredients in batches. Some recipes can be rushed a bit, but some really deserve the proper attention and care. I mean, they all do, but we’re human. Our daily routines often dictate how we accomplish our tasks.

Recently I had a weekend where I had some extra time to try out a recipe I’ve been hoping to try. If you’re missing delicious restaurant style classics, or not really vibing with the “healthy” alternatives…I give you this week’s review of…Crispy Chili Beef!

This week’s recipe is by Khin’s Kitchen, and you can find the recipe right -> here!

Crispy Chili Beef - Fried

Cooking In Batches–Yes, Please!

Unless you have some sort of industrial fryer…you will need to cook the beef in batches in order for them to crisp up nicely, and also not to create a dangerous environment! When working with super hot oil, please, PLEASE, be mindful of how much you’re putting in. Don’t fill your pot too high with oil otherwise you can risk the oil bubbling over and then you have a bit of a mess on your hands. A very HOT mess that you do not want to touch.

This is where this recipe for crispy chili beef calls for some patience and more time.

I followed this recipe carefully and per the instructions on the recipe card. It did take me 1.5 hours from start to finish. Was it worth it? Well, let’s keep discussing.

If you give your beef the time to fry in batches, then you’ll be left with delightfully crispy pieces that will not end up super soggy once added into the sauce.

Is it worth it?

Yes. It absolutely is.

The Sauce For The Crispy Chili Beef

The sauce itself is very simple to make and doesn’t require ingredients that are difficult to find at the store.

If you are keeping this gluten-free, just make sure that you’re using gluten-free soy sauce, like tamari or coconut aminos. Other than that, the remaining ingredients are gluten-free and you shouldn’t have any issue with them. But of course, always be vigilant, and read your labels :).

Making the sauce is very simple. You can combine the ingredients and set the mixed sauce aside while you fry your beef into crispy bits. Once it is time to combine everything, it comes together very quickly.

As I mentioned, what takes the most time is the frying in batches. Once you have that set, everything comes together. You cook the onions and the peppers until they are softened up a bit, then you add the crispy beef, and the delightful sauce. Holy smokes–what an aroma!

In my instance, I did not have fresh chilis, but I did slice up a jalapeño to add into the mix. It worked out wonderfully. Although, I would like to try this recipe once again with fresh chilis. I think it would be a nice pop of spice as well as a pop of color.

After all, we begin our feast with our eyes first.

Served Crispy Chili Beef

Grey’s Grade – 5/5

Khin’s Kitchen has knocked it out of the park with this recipe. While it does take a little longer than a typical weeknight meal to make, this recipe is very simple. It’s easy to follow with ingredients that aren’t difficult to find at your local grocery store. That’s a winner.

I think the flavor of this dish is outstanding. It’s not too sweet and it’s certainly not too spicy or salty. Plus, the texture of the veggies as well as our star–the crispy chili beef–it’s fantastic. No mushy beef or soggy peppers here!

If you’re looking to jazz up your weekend dinner, then I highly recommend this recipe to satisfy your takeout cravings without having to leave your home. I assure you that whoever will get to enjoy this meal will find themselves doing a happy dance. I know I did!
