Beef and Zucchini Stir Fry Any Day Of The Week
Hello friends!
Welcome to September! Whaaaaaaat?! Wasn’t it like two weeks ago that we started August? I swear, the older you get, the faster time just breezes past you. One thing that doesn’t change tho? The search for great recipes! I admit it isn’t always easy to find something new and exciting to review. When there are trends that spill past Tiktok into all the other apps and blogs, the search for something brand new becomes increasingly more…time-consuming.
Indeed the reason why I find it necessary to actually share these reviews is because we’re in the same boat. I’m just trying to help you all weed through the duds ;).
This week’s recipe, however, is anything but a dud. It’s by a fantastic social media chef who goes by The Golden Balance on his socials. I’ve been a fan of his cooking videos for quite some time, but never had the opportunity to actually check out his recipes. That changes this week!
This week we’re checking out a recipe for Beef and Zucchini Stir Fry with a homemade White Sauce. Sooo, yes, two recipes that go hand-in-hand.
The recipe for the recipe stir fry and white sauce can be found -> here and here!
Let’s Get Started!
Making The White Sauce
The best part about this entire meal is that it really does come together very quickly. So quickly, that you absolutely have enough time to throw together this white sauce that you can use for this dish and perhaps other dinners (if they fit the palette). Example: I used this sauce on the stir fry and also with some tacos I had made later that week. See? Works out!
The sauce itself is quite simple to make. Despite it having Kewpie mayo in it, it wasn’t that heavy at all since what I would call the “base” of this sauce is Greek yogurt. It’s delightfully tangy without tasting “sour”. You know, sometimes using Greek yogurt in sauces and dressings can just be too much, if you can believe it.
This one is quite well-balanced, especially when it’s paired with the beef and zucchini stir fry.
If you’re looking for a comparison or flavor, I’d put this in the Mediterranean/Middle Eastern flavor profile. Hints of garlic, and citrus–really work well together.
Making the Beef and Zucchini Stir Fry
Stir Fry’s in general are super simple to make. At least, they should be! This recipe was no exception. This beef and zucchini stir fry really doesn’t call for a wide range of ingredients, which makes this a great recipe to make any day of the week.
Trader Joe’s is my favorite place to buy shredded beef because it keeps things super simple. That’s what we’re about here, right? Simplicity. Now, I can already hear people saying “Well, if you have a sharp knife, you can do it yourself.” 🙂 Then, go ahead. I’ll just stick with my Trader Joe’s shredded beef, thanks!
This recipe also has minimal prep. Another reason to add this to your rotation. Get your spices ready, and your zucchini sliced, and watch it all come together in one pan. The hoisin and soy sauce (both gluten-free, if you’re wondering) add just the perfect amount of umami. So, I’d recommend sticking to the recipe and not adjusting it much especially with the amount of the sauces and seasonings. Along with the white sauce, it’s everything it needs to be.
Grey’s Grade: 5/5
This recipe is my three favorite things: Easy. Budget Friendly. DELICIOUS. This is such a simple stir fry to throw together any day of the week. It’s packed with flavor without it being overwhelming. And the white sauce? You simply must make it. It’s quick to make while everything else is cooking and it really does add another delicious layer of flavor to the entire plate. Yum!
If you’re new to The Golden Balance’s recipes–I highly recommend you explore more beyond just the one I am sharing. He’s truly fantastic when it comes to bringing family-favorite flavors in dishes I hadn’t even tried yet.
This absolutely gets a full 5/5 from me and I certainly hope you give it a try too!
