Greeting! It has been some time since my last post, but alas, I am still here, and finally in San Diego for the highly anticipated Comic-Con International!
My friend and I arrived on Wednesday, around late afternoon. The flights were pretty good, the delays weren’t quite as bad, seeing as we didn’t miss our connecting flight, so it all worked out! Already I can tell you all that San Diego is fantastic. For someone who lives in good ‘ol flat Illinois, this is amazing. Houses on the side of these cliffs/mountains; sparkling blue water in the distance–under a freakishly tall bridge. It’s fantastic. It honestly is. We’ve looked forward to this trip since…the end of last year’s Wizard World: Chicago. So being here is just an awesome break. I don’t want to look at my bank account, but hey,it’s vacation after a long and hard year, and well, especially after the last dew months or so? I don’t regret a thing.
But…the actual Comic-Con part started for us on Thorsday(haha). My camera is currently charging, but I will be uploading pictures from this splendid day at another date. Let me just begin by saying that getting Comic-Con tickets is insane. After being super prepared and in superhero mode, I was still unable to get into a registration room online. Luckily…my partner in crime was able to get in AND was able to get tickets for Thursday and Sunday 😀 Hey,it’s better than nothing. Hell, it’s amazing! It’s absolutely fantastic! As mentioned briefly in previous posts, we cosplayed yesterday as the always behaved brotherly duo…hahaha. But really. We went as Thor and Loki. These were our first cosplays that we made on our own. Lots of blood, sweat. and tears went into making them, but we made it, we did it, and the feedback was phenomenal. A lot of people stopped us to take pictures, and even children wanted their pictures taken with us. That day we also found out just how many children were worthy of wielding Mjolnir [: It was rather adorable to see how excited they were. I suppose that’s really the beauty of cosplay. It’s definitely the reason I love doing it, and really want to continue. When you see a child’s face light up at the sight of their favorite heroes (or villains u.u We all know Loki is simply burdened with GLORIOUS purpose :P), it’s amazing. Bringing smiles to people is what happiness truly is to me. So, it’s pretty easy to say that yesterday was honestly one of the happiest days I’ve had in a long time. I wasn’t able to see someone from the Sims community, but at least we all had fun! We met some fun cosplayers and probably sweat out everything that we were putting in. It was delightful, haha! Simply delightful!
As I mentioned earlier, pictures will be posted, probably next Tuesday as I will be able to upload my picture online 😀 I’m really excited for that! But for now, on this lovely Friday morning, I’m working on looking up some travel information since today we aren’t going to the Con today. Instead, we’re going to the ZOO!
I’m super excited for that, as I may be able to see a capybara in person, which is insanely exciting for me!!
So, for now, I wish you all a splendid day and I raise my imaginary cup of coffee to you! Hopefully it won’t be so imaginary once I go down for breakfast 😛
